About the DiMarzio Super Distortion

DiMarzio introduced the Super Distortion in the early 1970s, before replacement pickups were really a thing. It's a high-output, ceramic-magnet humbucker designed to drive a tube amp into overdrive, with thick mids, full highs and a tight low end. It's most at home in the bridge position of a solidbody guitar. The "G" in DP100G stands for the gold cover.
